Get groundcovers under control. Some non-native and native groundcovers and vines can be very aggressive. Folks plant these as fast growers to cover a lot of ground or fencing. Often they do much more. They grow over everything, smothering shrubs and flower beds as well as climbing into and over trees. Many are difficult to control once they get started. They spread so rapidly during our long growing season that keeping them within bounds can be a never-ending nightmare. Remove these plants from your property before you plant anything else. It is easier to get rid of existing problematic groundcovers and vines before they overtake new plants.
