The History Center is also known to have a haunted history. Strange events have happened over the years. During the conversion from courthouse to museum, construction workers would show up for work to find their tools in different places than where they had locked them up the previous night. After the opening of the History Center in 2000, employees in the museum’s education department told of a door that seemed to have a mind of its own. It would be found open even though the door had been closed and locked. People have also heard unexplained knocks behind the closed door.
