KEVIN M. McCARTHY
Kevin M. McCarthy is a lifelong fan of baseball and a retired English professor for the University of Florida, where he taught for thirty-seven years, including courses entitled "Writing about Baseball" and "Writing about the Sea."
He is a certified scuba diver and, when he was first born, was named after a pirate. (The name, Orlando, only stuck for about 24 hours, until he was renamed Kevin.) He lives in Gainesville with his wife, Karelisa Hartigan, and two children.
