M.C. Finotti is a journalist and former teacher who grew up imagining what it would be like to live in the “olden days.” The Treasure of Amelia Island is a direct byproduct of those imaginings. She lives in Atlantic Beach, Florida, with her husband and two children. Her book The Treasure of Amelia Island i has been awarded the 2009 James J. Horgan Award by the Florida Historical Society. This award is named after Professor James J. Horgan and recognizes outstanding works for children which promote the study of Florida's history and heritage.
