SANDRA FRIEND
Sinkholes
Author of
Climbing through caverns, sliding into sinkholes, and clambering up volcanoes is all in a day's work for Sandra Friend, who regularly ventures out into the field while researching articles and books. She has written more than 150 articles on travel, outdoors, and geological topics, and is the author of a series of five children's earth science educational books, Exploring Planet Earth. Sinkholes completes more than five years of research on a subject that has fascinated her since the 1970s. An Orlando resident, Friend can frequently be found hiking and backpacking Florida's many scenic trails.
