Sandra Wallus Sammons moved from Pennsylvania to Florida and became fascinated with the Sunshine State’s history. As an elementary school librarian in Lake County, Florida, she learned of the need for books on Florida’s history on a fourth-grade reading level. She began writing biographies of fascinating Floridians. So many lived such inspirational lives. She now lives in central Florida with her husband and their black cat, Spades.
